Company days
The formal gardens step down the hillside in a series of enclosed rooms: lawns, clipped yew and a fountain court. There is space to gather a whole company and space to break into groups.

Private celebrations
Lawns, a walled garden and a pergola walk laid out in about 1910. Marquees are welcome on the lawns, subject to review.

The estate is entered from the A5 through its own gates, and the drive runs through the park to the house.
Markyate lies between St Albans and Dunstable, about three miles from junction 9 of the M1.

- Harpenden station is about 5 miles away, with Thameslink trains to London St Pancras in 26 minutes on the fastest services.
